Apple Watch Series 3 alerting emergency services without Fall Detection feature on my watch

why would my address be the location of a Apple Watch fall detection when that feature isn’t even available on my Apple Watch? Twice the emergency services have come to my house saying they received an alert from my location (address) indicating a fall detection. My watch is a series 3 (doesnt have this feature)

This might be your iPhone calling emergency services saying you fell and telling them your address. If you have an iPhone 14 or later- It has an option for fall and crash detection and will call emergency services if it thinks you fell. If you would like to turn fall detection off, on your iPhone- Go to settings> SOS> and turn off the setting "Fall detection". I never knew that iPhone had this feature until it happened to me one time.

Hope this helps!

I don’t think my phone contacted the emergency services, both my phone and watch were on their chargers and locked like they are every night. After a lot of research I did wide awake at 2:00am it looks like this feature uses latitude and longitude/GPS to locate the watch that the person is wearing. I’m in an attached condo so I need to see if my neighbors have this feature and my address is the one that comes up for some reason (probably because they didn’t set up their watch correctly)
