When I attempt to copy/paste links, what gets pasted is plain text, not a blue hyperlink.
What am I doing wrong?

No that does not appear at the top of the page. discussions.apple.com is in the URL box, that's all.
I am using many apps and forums. For example, I want to insert a link in an email. I can't find how to copy the link from a site like YouTube and paste it into the email.

Did you click in the box? Until you do, you'll only see "discussions.apple.com."
