Yes, I got caught with the £1.99 offer! It was a few months before I realised they were taking £9.99. I immediately suspended payments and got the last payment refunded. I then tried to get my bank, NatWest involved, but after two months the bank declined to refund any monies for Total Drive’s questionable marketing policy by stating it was my fault and I should contact Total Drive. But I then gave up trying to find an email address, presumably in the States. So Caveat Emptor!

Did you perhaps sign up for a Total Drive subscription?!?

Total Drive has nothing to do with iCloud.

The word "cloud" is a generic term which people use to refer to servers and services on computers located on a network (especially on the Internet), "in the cloud". The image of the cloud saying that we aren't as interested in the gory details of how all the networks are connected, as in the fact that a service lives "out there somewhere."

iCloud (note the leading "i") is a trademarked name that Apple uses to refer to the "Apple cloud", to services that live on Apple's data centers. But there are many other private clouds. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Adobe … among many others … all have their own clouds.

This Total Drive app is for accessing a private cloud associated with the Total Drive people. They may be hoping that when you see the word "cloud", you'lll think of "iCloud" (Apple's service). Or not. But if you're paying Apple $2.99/month for iCloud+, and you then pay Total Drive $9.99/month (?) for whatever they are offering, that's as if you rented two different storage units from two different companies.

I received a similar message and thought I was buying a Black Friday special for icloud storage. Before I knew it I was receiving a receipt for an annual subsciption to Total Drive. I have been trying to cancel it ever since. every time I get to the link to cancel it takes me back to the log in page (even though I am logged in) and that's where I stay. Those are third party services that are not related to Apple's iCloud service. None of your Pictures and Data stored in iCloud will be lost.

You may have inadvertently signed up for these services from a Social Media post or Website Advertisement, but they are not needed at all. Stick with iCloud and if you need more storage space for your data, it is much cheaper to add an additional iCloud plan to increase your storage.
