How to transfer ringtones from Android to iPhone without additional apps?

I bought the Iphone to replace my existing android, believing the stuff that the changeover would be fairly seamless. 3 weeks down the line I have this piece of garbage. Nothing was straightforward with the IOS App. I'll wait until I can buy a new android phone and get rid of this. One of the worst decisions I have ever made. As an example, try and transfer a ringtone. Can anybody tell me how to do this without downloading some other App?

Why do I need to download another app to allow me to use my existing preferences to an Iphone? It didn't say this on any of the marketing information.

Android and iOS are completely different operating system. If someone told you you could easily transfer Android Ringtones to an iPhone, they were misinformed. You can't do that. You can create a ringtone, using Garage Band on your iPhone if you have the music file. And that is why you would need to download another app. Or just go to the Tone Store in the iTunes Store and see if you can find a ringtone which is like the one you had on your Android, which will cost you about $1 to purchase.

I agree my expectations were unrealistic (on hindsight), but we are not all tech experts. Having loaded the move to ios app, done a factory reset a few times because it failed and not because a ringtone didn't transfer, I was approaching despair. Perhaps the advice they should give is 'there is a high likelihood this is not going to be easy'.
I probably would not have made the purchase.

Noe of us here on this user to user only forum are tech experts. We are all users, just like you. As we've been telling you, the move to iOS is to move your data from an Android device to an iPhone. That's the data. But a ringtone, which would be part of Android OS, isn't exactly your data. It is part of the Android operating system. Just like if someone wanted to move from an iPhone to an Android phone, the ringtone they used on iPhone would not be moved to the Android Phone. You just can't move parts of one operating system to another operating system. And I suspect this is what has confused you.

Check the move to IOS app on the Apple website. No warnings about what was in store. Perhaps it didn't state it was seamless but the implication certainly was a straightforward transfer. That is far from the case.

The move to iOS doesn't suggest that everything you had on an Android phone will magically be transported to an iPhone. Important data, yes. Things which are built into Android OS, not really. We understand your expectations aren't being met, but they weren't realistic, to be honest.

Nope, I asked if I could transfer without downloading another app. Are you saying this is not possible?

Have all your questions been answered, as well as you’d expect from a user to user support forum? Do you have any other questions?

Personally, I have never transferred from Android to iPhone, so unfortunately I cannot go off personal experience, but have to rely on Support Documents and the little I know about iOS. And of course, what I learn from other members.

So to give a yes or no answer to “can I transfer without downloading another app?” wouldn’t be the right thing to do since I’m not all too familiar with this. But hopefully IdrisSeabright and lobsterghost1 have sufficiently answered your questions?

Since you paid for the device anyways, you might as well make the most of it. Right? We’ll always be here if you need anything.
