How can I fix my iMac keyboard issues?

New (refurbished fron Apple Store) M3 512 ssd iMac. Three replacement keyboards, always same problem, frequent replaced keys by adjacent letters. Must be a membrane problem. Any ideas? Or best alternative keyboard, please

There aren't any settings that would generate adjacent letters being produced, but there is one that can make space bar do nothing, mentioned in F in this note

Cannot do that, I am afraid. I do not have alternative keyboards in my possession, with which to provide an answer ( Apple exchanged for a new board every time).

My experience is that, on every occasion, it was the keys adjacent on the keyboard that replaced what I wanted, or the letter m appearing instead of the "space" bar at the bottom - or sometimes the simple omission of the space between two words.

Hence my presumption that it is a membrane problem, allied to my poor keyboard technique!

I have gone through much of the "Settings" procedure, without finding anything wrong.

Apple insists that they have no record of similar defects.

I did not have the same experience with my previous iMac, with a more substantial/deeper keyboard

Hence the second part of my question: can you recommend an alternative to the current model of keyboard? What about a scissor-type mechanism? or a mechanical one? They seem (much) more expensive!

Many thanks for your interest.

Thanks, but I don't have a spare keyboard lying around! Even though I would need adapters for this splendid new "Four port" SSD iMac

As I wrote in an earlier post, it seems almost certain that I am having to cope with a combination of extremely slim keyboard (as supplied with the latest SSD iMacs), with my poor keyboard skills - a bit old to retrain!

But it looks much more likely that I need a different keyboard, to cope better with my lack of skill. Hence my request in 3 May, for advice on alternatives. Logitech seems to have a vast range, many for Mac, and some (usually more expensive) replacing membranes with "scissor-type" or "mechanical".

Advice very welcome.

Thanks, but I have gone through the systems settings which you recommend, but nothing appears which could explain my problem. I have reverted to standard reset settings

It simply MUST be the combination of membrane problems, combined with keyboard skills.

So ................ advice on a keyboard more appropriate for a clumsy keyboard operator, please!
