Pictures library empty after WindowServer quit (MacBook Air - Sonoma 16.6.1)
I accidentally force quit WindowServer a couple of days ago whilst logged in as myself (we have several user logins set up - one for Administrator and others for family members). At the time, I wasn't even sure if I had force quit, because nothing happened i.e. the Mac didn't shut down/reboot and I just carried on using it as normal. Today I logged in as Administrator, opened the Photos app (where all our photos are stored), and it was completely empty. I opened the Pictures library and that is completely empty. All our photos appear to have disappeared.
We do not have Time Machine set up.
Where are my photos and how can I get them back? Weirdly when I log in as myself and open Photos, I can still see the photos that I saved under my own login. So if I did force quit WindowServer, it hasn't affected individual logins but has affected the Administrator login.
Can anyone help? I had about 15 years worth of photos stored on the Mac - we have many photos saved on another device, but no other back up for the more recent ones. Thank you.
