Report: Chrome Downloads Stopping in Background on iOS 18.4.1

Since updating to iOS 18.4.1, I have observed that file downloads initiated in Google Chrome are getting interrupted or stopped under the following conditions:

When switching to another app (e.g., Mail, WhatsApp, etc.).
When the screen auto-locks or the device is manually locked.

As if the internet post was for some other version of Chrome. I am getting desperate, hate to give up my ipad. Tried getting used to Edge and Safari but prefer to stay on Chrome. Solution: Safari very slow to open page via hyperlink iPhone 16 Pro. Since new, and across all iOS 18 updates Safari has been painfully slow, 15-20 seconds, opening a web page via a hyperlink. Changing the default browser to DuckDuckGo, Opera or chrome eliminated this issue so I knew it was a Safari issue. I finally found the Safari setting that is causing the issue. Under the Advanced settings, Privacy, turning off the Advanced Tracking and Fingerprinting Protection eliminated the concern. But what does this setting do? See attached screenshots. I hope that by disabling this feature I am not opening myself to site tracking. Any feedback would be appreciated. I hope this helps others.

After the new iOS 16.6 update Chrome along with Safari will not load certain websites for me. This is an issue across the iPhone as well as the iPad. When trying to load a pop-up screen view in Chrome browser or Safari I get an Aw! Snap or Can't open this page in loading the page. None of the troubelshooting options provided are working either. This was never an issue before the 16.5-16.6 update that was just released. This is causing issues in my office as I use my iPad primarily and not being able to load certain web pages is causing issues in the flow of my office. I am using an iPhone 13 Pro Max and an iPad Air 4th generation. Encountering the same issue on both devices.

Chrome is not an Apple app; contact Google support.

Perhaps a long shot:

Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN.
