iPhone 14 Pro restarts every few minutes after I dropped it in water

I dropped my phone in water a couple days ago. It worked fine but after 2 hours it shut off and kept flashing the Apple logo trying to restart. Finally, 4 hours after the initial drop, it turned on. But now every few minutes it turns off by itself, and then restarts automatically and turns back on. I don’t know if I can get this repaired or how to save my data. I cant back up the data to iCloud because the phone keeps shutting off mid backup (shuts off every 5 minutes about). Please tell me how I can save my data, and if I can save this phone. I care about the data moreso. It’s an iPhone 14 pro.

I think the phone is beyond saving. But I want to save my data. Will QuickStart work when I get a new phone? Can it do all the data in 5 minutes before it shuts off again?

Using Quick Start for 5 Minutes:

It will take a bit longer, as you’ll have to select a bunch of items. But, if it gets stuck and is unsuccessful, then you’ll have to reset the new phone to Factory Settings, and then set it up anew, as if you were to sell it. Once reset, proceed with set up of your new iPhone. You’d perform as instructed here, including the iCloud logout: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Another Option…

Sync Through iCloud:

Sign in to the same Apple Account on both devices. Then enable items (i.e. Photos) in iCloud on both phone. All pertaining items will be accessible between the two devices. As an example, here is how to go about this for Contacts:

On Both iPhones...

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Your Name (Top Item)
  3. Tap: iCloud
  4. Tap: Contacts
  5. Enable: iCloud Contacts

iPhone Dropped in Water:

I. Do you Have AppleCare with this?:

If you have AppleCare with this, Apple most likely wouldn’t cover this, due to intentional damage. So, in the future, the next time this occurs, always contact Apple, prior to fiddling around with cleaning it. They’ll run you through the fix. Go here to Find Out: Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support

II. How to get this Serviced:

Contact Apple, and setup a Genius Bar Appointment or see an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) in your local area.

A. Contact Apple:

B. Contact an AASP:

  1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
  2. Click: Service & Support
  3. Enter: your location information
  4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
  5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the iPhone

C. Take it to a Retailer:

The only inexpensive way I can think of(an it will cost money) is to take it to a retailer, seeing if they have a device that gets the water out of this device. Many retailers have these.

C. Backing this Up to iCloud:

III. Plug this Into a Surge Protector: What happens when you plug this into an outlet? See if it then stays on. Then, enable items in iCloud Settings, letting it back up. Note that iCloud does not back up everything: What does iCloud back up? - Apple Support

Your iPhone cannot be repaired. Apple won't attempt to work on a water damaged phone. You can take it to your closest Apple Store, but all they're going to offer you is the opportunity to buy a new iPhone. Backups MUST happen before catastrophe strikes. There is no way to backup a damaged phone. Anything which wasn't backed up or at least synced with iCloud will be lost.

It's been 3 days since the initial drop. It still restarts, even when plugged into a charger. I can't backup on icloud because it shuts off midway. The longest it stayed on before shutting off again was about 15 minutes. I don't have AppleCare, so I'm assuming it'll cost way too much money to get it fixed. The water is likely all dried up and the damage is left behind. There was some condensation in the cameras, front and back, but the back completely cleared. The front is almost clear. I think the phone is beyond saving. But I want to save my data. Will QuickStart work when I get a new phone? Can it do all the data in 5 minutes before it shuts off again?
