The phone is still connected to my charger upon getting out of the shower. I rush to answer an incoming call, and for whatever reason, the ringing stops and I miss the call. Not sure if I touch the side buttons by mistake. It happens too often for me to continue ignoring the issue.
Any ideas?

Do you have any Focuses enabled? Can you confirm that the numbers calling you haven’t been blocked? Is “Silence Unknown Callers” off in: Settings > Apps > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers?

Currently, it is set to 4 rings upon receiving a call. Maybe it rangs 4 rings, but only heard 2 rings. I think it would be wise for me to lean the phone upside down on my couch. I think I am blocking the bottom speaker otherwise.
Perhaps you need to contact your carrier and ask them to increase the amount of time your phone rings before it goes to voicemail?
If it's not plugged in, does the phone ring more than two times?
At what point does it stop ringing (after two rings)? Does it always stop just when you’re near the iPhone, or does it sometimes stop when you’re still far away from it?
I do not see any focuses in iPhone settings, but I know that everything is silent at night. So go figure.
Not blocked. Silence Unknown Callers is off.
It rang only 2 rings this morning. I think it has to do with being plugged-in or locked. Or, touching side buttons. After two years of use, I still don't have the answer.
