Jumping Cursor is a real pain on my newish Macbook Air - WHY?

When typing online or in emails, my cursor often jumps 'backwards' 2-3 lines (with me often not noticing til it is typing gobbledegook!)

It started shortly after purchasing my new Macbook Air late last year. I've been using Macs for over 35 years (in the last 10 years using Macbooks more than my desktop) .... and I am doing nothing different from when using my previous Macbooks.

WHY is it happening? HOW can I stop it.

I am not resting my hand on the touch pad .... Tap to Click is turned off in the Settings ..... I am not typing any faster than I ever have before (when it was not happening.) I am up to date with my System Sequoia 15.4.1

I have been in touch with Apple techs (who are aware of it happening to others) - but they don't have a solution! So It MUST be a software thing from Apple's end.

The only thing that has caused it, is buying a new Macbook Air last Oct.

Is it only happening to more recently purchased Macbook Airs? SOMETHING has changed that is causing this!

Has anyone been able to overcome it permanently?
