Instagram not working on new iPhone 16 Pro

Please note: This question is a copy and paste from reddit but I'm having the exact same issue. The only resolution from that thread was deleting and reinstalling the app and creating a new account to log out of your actual account (as this apparently fixes the bug causing the problem) but I'm not comfortable with this method, incase the burner gets flagged for fraud and I don't want that attached or associated to my account, so I want to see if anyone here might have found a better solution for this issue.

"I just got a new iPhone 16 pro and have loaded all my other apps just fine, but instagram is not working correctly. I can login and see my feed but cannot click any profiles or see comments. When I try to view my own profile, my posts don’t show up. It won’t let me click on my followers or following. It shows profiles under “discover people” but I cannot click on them. I can see my dms, but cannot click on a reel that was sent to me. I tried to add my second profile and I can click the down arrow next to my handle, but can’t click the “add instagram profile” or “go to accounts center” buttons. It is making g me login each time I restart the app.

I have tried restarting the app, restarting my phone, and deleting and redownloading the app all multiple times. Not sure what my next move is. Any advice is appreciated"
