Why is Apple refusing a refund for in-app purchase despite meeting requirements?

  • I recently bought vip on some game i play, i didn't like it so i refunded it within not even an HOUR. they said i didn’t have the requirements for an refund when i clearly do. i even read the refund terms and i clearly read “If these features were activated and cannot be disabled by the person in possession, Apple may refuse the return or exchange.” which they easily can its just a game. why is someone at apple lying to me when i clearly met the requirements.

You met this exception. Part of the same sentence you posted:

If these features were activated and cannot be disabled by the person in possession

You have the in-app purchase. It cannot be removed from your account once acquired. So, why should you get a refund?

That's like finishing a $100 steak, and only after you've eaten the entire thing, you complain you didn't like it and want a refund.

Thats why im confused because i didnt buy in game currency or something i could spend/finish the thing i bought is reversable and in the app it even says refunds are available.

Then let the developer send you a check if they are going to make that claim to you. It is not Apple making that claim to you.

If the app is making false claims, you have a couple of options:

  • Write a review for the app in the App Store to alert other potential users
  • Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and note the app as fraudulent. If Apple receives enough complaints and the developer refuses to make changes, it will be removed from the App Store.

Not sure what requirements you are referring to or what you have read. Apple does state that all transactions in the App Store are final. At times Apple may grant a compassionate refund, but it should never be expected. The only option for trying a service first without having to pay is when the developer offers a free trial and you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial period ends. In no way does may mean will. Feel free to source the information that says Apple will refund your money.

All Transactions are final.
