Can I run scripts on an iPad to fix Wi-Fi issues?

Hi,

Not sure if anyone else has this problem. I have an iPad that's playing a Roon Controller role in our Zoom setup. The Zoom Room and Controller are on the same WiFi SSID. They need to be on the same network to work. Occasionally the WiFi drops and when it comes back the Room re-connects as you would expect any device to when it sees an SSID that it has the credentials for and is configured to Auto-connect. Weirdly, the iPad does not re-connect even though it's configured to Auto-connect and it has the credentials to do so. I've not been able to establish why this is, so I was thinking I'd write a simple script to check and re-connect the WiFi if it detects it's not up. But I can't even figure out if the iPad can run scripts! Does anyone here have any ideas? i.e. is the fact that it doesn't re-connect automatically something that's normal with an iPad? Is there a fix for that?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards

Collin

iOS/iPadOS does have the ability to automate some tasks. Try exploring the Shortcuts feature:

There are also extensions for Shortcuts available in the Apple App Store:

Shortcuts are powerful - and have a learning curve. Whether or not you'll be able to perform the scripted automation that you hope to achieve may require some experimentation.
