How do I remove an active eSIM after switching carriers on iPhone?

I’m afraid to delete my eSIM now that I’ve switched carriers and have a physical Sim now, because for some reason it won’t let me text other Apple users unless the eSIM is switched on.

Help?

If you have ended the contract with the eSIM provider then it is pointless keeping it installed. Remove it in Settings, Cellular (or mobile service) and tap Delete eSIM.

Then

Settings, Apps, Messages, turn OFF iMessage

Settings, Apps, FaceTime turn OFF Facetime

Power the phone off

Power it back on

Settings, Apps, Messages, turn ON iMessage

Ensure your main new number is showing as one of the addresses

Settings, Apps, FaceTime turn ON Facetime
