Activation Lock Issue on MacBook Air - Request for Assistance

Dear Apple Support Team,

I am writing regarding an Activation Lock issue on my MacBook Air. Here are the details of my situation:

  1. Purchase Details:
    • I recently purchased a used MacBook Air in Iran.
    • The seller initially set up the device with their Apple ID before transferring it to me.
  1. Current Problem:
    • After receiving the device, I performed a factory reset using my personal Apple ID.
    • Upon restarting, I encountered an Activation Lock message indicating the device is still linked to the previous owner's Apple ID through Find My.
    • The system continues to request verification with the original account, despite my using my own Apple ID for the reset.
  1. Device Information:
    • Model: MacBook Air
    • Serial Number: c02********p
  1. Steps Taken to Resolve:
    • Attempted to contact the original seller to remove the device from their iCloud account (unsuccessful)
    • Performed a full reset through Recovery Mode (Command + R)
    • Verified Find My iPhone on iCloud.com to confirm the device does appear in my account

Request for Assistance:

Could you please advise how to resolve this Activation Lock issue?

Thank you for your time and support.

I'm sorry, but there's nothing you can do.

Recycle it responsibly.

Apple will not remove the activation lock without the original proof of purchase from Apple or an authorized retailer, and they can not remove the activation lock or offer any services to someone in Iran.

Iran is under international sanctions, Apple does not do business there.
