My Apple Pencil Pro isn’t connecting to my IPad

I got an Apple Pencil pro as a birthday gift but it’s not connecting (my iPad is the pro generation 4). It slides off the magnetic dock and doesn’t pair at all. The magnet just seems very weak as it doesn’t attach properly and when it does it moves around a lot. I’ve restarted my iPad, updated it, removed and reinstalled the tip, and turned my Bluetooth on and off again but it still refuses to even charge. I’ve check the compatibility and it’s supposed to work, my iPad is an iPad Pro Gen 4 and the Apple Pencil is an Apple Pencil Pro. I’ve have an Apple Pencil before and it never acted like this. I was think that it might be faulty. I’m not sure what to do now, do you guys have any advice?
