What are good alternatives to the Pocket app?
I just found out today that the Pocket app will be shutting down on July 8th, 2025, and I want to know of any other apps that I use to save articles to read offline later.
iPhone 11, iOS 18

Instapaper, and it has a migration path as well.
Instapaper looks like a suitable alternative. You may also want to consider Matter.
To the OP,
I didn't do anything about replacing Pocket and a new replacement, Ten Tabs, just took it's place.
The pocket app has been closed by Mozilla. I tried to use Instapaper to replace it, but it was a nightmare. I downloaded it to Safari (on MacBook Air), created an account, and it opens the Instapaper home page. From there, I cannot get the icon to appear in the dock or elsewhere, or to see how to save articles. I consulted MacWorld and they said to click on the "extra" button on the home page. There is no such thing on my home page. Or, go to Settings to get Extras, and I have no Settings button.
There are previous inquiries about Instapaper in Community and some say "This question has been removed."
Has any other user connected successfully to Instapaper or does it just not work on Macs?
What is a good alternative to pocket?
But did you need to say it four months later?
You could answer your own question with a quick websearch!
https://alternativeto.net/software/pocket/
M1 Mac mini, macOS 15.5; Watch, series 10 GPS-only, watchOS 11.5; iPhone 16, iOS 18.5; TV 4th Gen, tvOS 18.5 HomePods, audioOS 18.5
That response seems a little harsh and frankly is unhelpful, perhaps the poster is the one person in the World who doesn’t know how to simply enter a search query into a browser or maybe, gonna go out on a limb here, they took the trouble of miraculously finding an Apple discussion page to inquire what other humans have switched to and found out if it works for them or not! After all, as the welcome message states, this is “A forum where Apple customers help each other” Just saying!!!!
More to the point, four months later, you thought that one of the first comments with your shiny new Apple Support Communities account, you would take a long time volunteer to task for a friendly hint about doing a little homework before asking such a question that one could do a simple search to find the answer to.
You're the one being harsh, and now the whole community knows to steer clear of you as you've shown your colors.
Actually, I made that comment about 10 minutes after reading it, sorry that I was out living life four months ago and not trolling here collecting points to make myself feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside; would have been sooner but I had to first sign up for my ‘Shiny new account’ to do so. The tenor of your most recent reply to the OP is much better and more helpful, keep up the great work you do here.
