Was I scammed by a Defender VPN app on my iPhone?

I think that an attempt was made to install malware on my iPhone. I grew suspicious and immediately uninstalled it and unsubscribed from the £9.99 weekly subscription. I have checked through my phone and everything seems to be okay. Was I being scammed? I have now installed Norton 360.

only way to install software of any type on a nonjailbroken iphone is apples app store

you can't get software from other apps or from mails, links, sms's webpages or anywhere only app store controlled by apple.

which sort of makes norton and the likes software pretty pointless on ios devices.

but good thing you stopped paying a subscription to vpn as they can mine all your internet traffic if they wish and sell it to who they wish.
