Older iPad Air with software 12.5.7 After creating Hidden Album in Photos App you have a album listed as Hidden but beyond that there is no way I see to secure/hide it beyond that. It does not have the ability to hide it in settings like today's version. Or am I missing something ?

The existence of the Photos App "Hidden" folder cannot itself be masked/hidden - however, any photos moved to the hidden folder cannot be viewed without first entering the device Passcode to unlock the folder. The "Hidden" folder is immediately locked again if you navigate away to a different folder in the Photos App.

That's right. The ability to hide the Hidden view is a new addition not available in older OSs.
Thank you for that. I was just puzzled as to why create a Hidden Folder when there was nothing hidden other then being in a folder that says hidden, if somebody wanted to view it while you were showing them some photos all they had to do was touch it and all your dark secrets would be out in the open. Usally I could be missing something. And for those that say UPDATE your IOS , for older iPads you can only update so far after that its the end off the road.

The original idea of Hidden status was more to keep certain photos out of the way of the user rather than to make them secret from bystanders or spies. (That's an oversimplification, but it wasn't designed as a security mechanism.) The Hidden folder was just a way to find they so you could undo Hidden status.

If you hand your phone to someone, then you are handing them "all your dark secrets." The Hidden view is not meant to protect the Nuclear Codes or your personal data if you hand people your phone. They can go to Settings and unhide the Hidden view if they have your phone All protection is limited to a single passcode. If you hand the phone to someone, you should watch that phone!
(I may have to re-think that Nuclear Codes example…)
