iPhone 14 Pro Max Post iOS 18.5 Update Problems

My iPhone 14 Pro Max began to experience some delays in refreshing folder contents and an issue downloading an Adobe Scan file from Adobe Cloud to a folder on my personal OneDrive. As a result, I did what normally do and shut down then restarted by iPhone, which I try to do once every 7-14 days.

After restarting my iPhone, a white screen appeared that seemed to indicate it was completing an update. Once finished, I unlocked my iPhone and noticed that several app icons were dimmed as if they were in the process of being downloaded, or maybe I should say updated. Unfortunately, the process seems to not be completing.

I have also noticed some previously deleted apps on the last screen that seem to be queued for downloading.

I went into the Apple’s App Store to check to see how many apps were updating. There were many with the spinning wheel indicating an update was in progress or queued. At this point, I decided to turn off automatic app updating in Settings, as well as OS updating, just to see if I could get a bit more control over the iPhone. I then shut it down, waited a minute, then restarted it.

I have shut down and restarted my iPhone several times, but without success of getting things restored. Right now there are two apps that seem to still trying to update, and I cannot get them to stop (the “cancel download” option is not available).

All my iOS updates have been flawless and without incident up to 18.5.

Do any fellow iPhone users or iPhone Support have any suggestions on what I can do?

Thank you!

Reset or a Force Restart,

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Restore from backup, restore as new device.

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings using a computer - Apple Support

Some carrier's required a "carrier update" after updating the iOS version.

Check Settings > General > About and see if an update notice appears there...

Manually update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

you can Settings>General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset Network Settings <—————————RESET

as a trouble shooting step...

the ref is here, ignore the "SOS, No Service, or Searching"
