Fix for Maps Data Taking up Storage

Has there been a fix for the bug where maps data begins subsuming tens of GB of storage for no reason? Or are they too concerned with making the photos app layout look different and adding AI to the weather app. It’s taking up 20% of my storage space and my phone is now full because of it. Currently the only fix is to backup your phone to Icloud and factory reset your phone. Even then the issue is only put off, not fixed. This has been known for over a year and I am not aware of any complete solutions. Great job.
