I sent my Gen4 iWatch to a non-Apple source for a battery change (my fault, i know!); i am uncertain that the watch turned to me is the one i sent in - i do not have a record of the watch's serial number but i did initially have AppleCare on the watch - is there a way to search AppleCare records to confirm my watch's serial number number? Thanks to anyone who can assist.

Check your email for the Proof of Coverage receipt you should have received shortly after purchasing AppleCare+. It includes the Serial Number. If you don’t have it anymore, see if it’s still paired to your iPhone or Apple Account.
As LD150 states, for what it’s worth Apple doesn’t service Apple Watches, when you go in for repair they exchange your Watch for a refurbished one of your same make and model. If that is not in stock they’ll give you a new one. This may have happened with you, but there’s no saying in what non Authorized Service Providers perform.
