Best software to sync photos between MacBook Air and iPhone

Hi all,

I’m looking for some advice on software to synch pics between my MacBook Air (M1, latest OS 154.1 at time of writing) and iPhone 10 (IOS 18.5)

I want to:

Download pictures from iPhone camera roll to MacBook Air via wifi or bluetooth, not internet or cloud

Convert:

HEIC to JPG

PNG to JPG

Edit metadata:

Batch rename files (based on shooting date)

Edit captions, keywords for individual files

Batch edit captions, keywords

Organise pics into folders

Upload certain folders (eg favourite family pics, things seen in shops) to iPhone and keep folders synched when pics are added either on iPhone or MacBook.

Back up folders to external drive

Create photo or scrap books (digital, pdf, printed)

Any recommendations for software that would do some or all of those functions would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Why don't you just connect your iPhone to your MBA by it's USB charging cable, launch Photos and import that way.

You can make those conversions when you export the photos from the library to the Desktop.

Photos will let you edit Captions, Titles and Capture Dates for individual files and for batches of files.

Photos will also create photo books, calendars, cards, etc.

And Photos is free and comes with every Mac and it is tightly integrated into the system and Apple apps.

Any reason you haven't considered using Photos?
