How do I fully wipe an app from my iPhone so it doesn’t retain any data on reinstall?

Hey guys, I need a little help here. I have an app installed on my iPhone that needs to be reinstalled due to some configuration issues. The problem I’m facing is that every time I delete/uninstall the app and download it again (from iCloud), it still seems to retain my basic information — it automatically prompts me for my password and autocompletes my user account.

I need to wipe it completely from my iPhone!

Please help! I know I managed to do it once before, but I can’t remember how I did it 🙂

Some apps such as SnapChat are able to detect your device and stores your previous information on their servers. That is how they and other Social Media apps can ban your device from their service. They would know your username, but not your password. The Password is only available on your device and if it autofills, then you have it saved at Settings > Passwords.

There are only 3 places your data would be stored:
On your device, which would be removed when deleted.
• In iCloud if the app supports storing data in iCloud. You can check at Settings > [name on top] > iCloud.
• On their own servers.

Hi ! thanks for the quick response. The app does not support storing data un iCloud (at least I cannot see it in the Settings).

The one thing left I'd to try is to download the App again from AppStore instead the one cached on my iCloud.

Is there a way to force that?

Apps are not stored or cached in iCloud. You see the iCloud symbol in the App Store just to let you know that you have downloaded it previously. When you tap that in the App Store or redownload from your History, you are getting a clean install of the latest version of the app.

Yes, I rebooted my iPhone in between deleting and reinstalling the app and there is no entry in the Password App.

Any other clue? I know I did it in the past but as I mentioned, I can't remember how :-)

PS: Is there a way to remove the App from my iCloud? because when I go to the AppStore to install it again, it shows me that I will be downloading from iCloud (you can see the picture of the cloud)
