My daughter was given an Apple Watch. It is not GPS/cellular, and we cannot connect it to her Apple ID because of this. When I try to set her up from my phone, it tells me that the watch must have GPS/cellular to set it up. Why? Am I missing something?

My old Series 5 (not cellular) is connected to an iPhone 13mini of a family member.
If your daughter is going to have her own iPhone 13, you should be able to pair it.
But, the iPhone has to be set up with her own Apple ID before you can pair the watch:

I did. Thank you. I guess I don’t understand because we were able to do it in December but not now. It is a series 5 watch. Does anyone know if I can connect it to an old iPhone 13? I would have to wipe the phone but then would be able to log in to her Apple ID account on the phone, so maybe the watch would connect to it? Or is the watch just too old to connect to anything?
