why did my clock app alarm not bypass sleep mode?

I’ve always been using iPhones built in alarms and a few months ago I started using sleep mode. I’m pretty sure the clock app HAS bypassed sleep mode to wake me up, but recently it hasn’t. I don’t want to have to make a new sleep schedule EVERY time I need an alarm change. Especially as my work schedule changes weekly and I need to be up at different times each week. How can I fix this?

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 18

Sleep Focus has a designated alarm, and you can choose to customize only the next day's alarm. If you set an alarm in the Clock app, it may interfere with the alarm from the Sleep Focus. To do so, open the Health app > In the bottom right menu tap Browse > Sleep > Scroll down to Your Schedule where there will be the option to edit only your next wake-up.
