How does VPN use affect battery life on iPhone 16 Pro?

is battery life on iPhone 16 pro impacted by VPN use? I close apps and windows. I start day 7:00 am at 100%. Down to 0% frequently by 5:00pm. What could the battery suck be??

Go to Settings > Battery and scroll down to reveal your graph and the top apps that have consumed your battery over the last 24 hours. That is what is consuming your battery. Meta apps and some other Social Media apps have been noted as being very power hungry and continue to use your battery through background processes even when you are not using the app.


Feel free to post the screenshot of what you see there or you can review the information yourself and delete the top apps and compare your results. Another step that I would take is to do a Force Restart. It may take a couple of attempts to get the speed and sequence of the key presses correct.

  • Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
  • Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
  • Press and HOLD the side button until the Apple logo appears. Ignore anything else you see on the screen during that time and it could take up to 15 seconds while holding the side button before you see the Apple Logo.
