Amazon app cause iPhone to overheat

While you are correct, the internal temperature monitor will keep the heat level in a safe range, avoiding “high heat”, whatever that is. As it’s not quantified “high heat” is meaningless.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t stop using the app, but it is to save battery energy, not to protect the battery, which, as I said, can take care of itself.

Apple has nothing to do with any 3rd party app, so there is nothing Apple could do even if they wanted to, except possibly banning the app.

I’m experiencing the same issue. I’m using an iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 18.5 and the Amazon Shopping app version 25.10.0. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but the behavior persists. The phone starts overheating within a few minutes of using the Amazon app and the battery starts draining very quickly. Once I close the app, the phone cools down and returns to normal within a few minutes.

For ANYONE posting here about the Amazon app. Posting here isn't going to get you anything. Apple doesn't own Amazon, nor their app. Apple cannot touch the code inside Amazon's app or they'd be sued. ALL Apple does is host their app in the App Store.

If you want a solution, contact Amazon and let them know what is happening to you.

Same issue here iphone 16. I just got the app on my iphone, as i usually use the app on my other device which is android and it causes major overheating. I thought it might be android issue, so gave it a go on my iPhone instead. Same problem. It only started happening recently, couple of months. The problem isnt the device its the app itself across both apple and android

I also have the same problem with the Amazon app. I noticed this approximately 3 days ago on June 10 2025. The app has was updated to the latest version at the time of release by Amazon and there has not been an update for about 3 weeks as of today. I have the iPhone 16 on iOS 18.5 ( also updated at time of release in May 2025)

I have deleted the Amazon app and will use the web for now as I have concerns.

Same problem here with the Amazon app; it took me awhile to isolate the problem but it’s definitely that app. It’s so bad I’ve taken the case off the phone when I have to use the app. I used to really love “window shopping” on the app but, alas😢

I too have been having the same issue with Amazon App heating up my iPhone and draining battery. In chatting with ChatGPT about this it gave me this email address to email Amazon about the issue. The email is

ios-feedback@amazon.com I sent a email to them regarding the issue and did not get a bounce back which means email is valid so hopefully they read it.

Unfortunately, there is no option in that link to report a problem with the Amazon app.

If you think the Amazon app is pulling data off your phone then it's an easy fix....stop using it.

At the same time I used wife’s Samsung android phone to browse in Amazon app. Even after 30 minutes of continuous using of the app the phone is not heated. It was in the normal temperature. So I think there is some problem with updated IOS . Requested Apple to take care of the issue

same for me. Using an iPhone 13 mini running 18.5. Gets hot as a torch until I completely close out the amazon app. Once it cools no other apps cause overheating, but the moment I open Amazon the phone starts really heating up. Worried about the potential damage this overheating may have caused to the battery and beyond when I had the app open on my phone while charging and stepped away, returned a half hour later to find the app still open and my phone roasting hot.
