Can I trade-in a UK-purchased iPhone two months after receiving it in the US?

I'm having a relative buy me a phone from the UK and give it to me when they come to visit but I want to make use of the trade-in. Is it okay to do the trade-in two months after the purchase when they go back and you refund the difference?

If you are referring to an iPhone 16, the current iPhone, Apple does not allow trading in an iPhone 16 to purchase another device. You cannot trade in an iPhone 16 until a newer iPhone comes out. Purchasing an iPhone in a country you do not intend to use it in is also a bad idea. Why don't you just buy one in the US. If the relative wants to get you an iPhone, have them get you an Apple Gift Card and you can make the purchase yourself in the US where you live.
