Lost all calendar events on iPhone after iOS 18.5 update

I Updated my iPhone to 18.5 and my calendar events are completely gone. I have tried everything and contacted Apple multiple times. Right now, I am currently using an old device to see if I can use an older iCloud backup to get the events back. I tried one backup, and it didn’t work, so I am working on another older backup to see if that will work. If not, then I have no other options. There was no restore backup on iCloud.com for the calendar either; it seemed to have deleted as well. There was definitely a glitch in their recent update, as I have checked on Reddit, and Apple said a lot of users are contacting them about this. I use my calendar for everything, and it’s all gone.

I had this issue after updating to 18.5 but was able to get all my calendar events back by doing this:

settings - apps - calendar - calendar accounts - iCloud - iCloud calendar - use on this iPhone toggle off and back on.

right after doing so, all my old events populated again.

I can’t agree with Charles Palenz’ comment. I’m very familiar with the use of my Apple equipment and even help my family with their issues. This situation is NOT because of an innocent mistake I may have made. This clearly is on Apple. The company has created a monster somehow and apparently can’t fix it. What a disaster! I’m lost without my calendar!

Me too! Why? I had my doubts upping to 18.5, made at myself for doing so. Hope someone here has a solution. Thank you

Have found my shared events are still in iCloud. Just can't seem to get them on my cpu calendar or phone calendar. Have tried unsubscribing to iCloud and turning back on but that doesn't work.

So, did you select "Keep on My iPhone" or "Delete from My iPhone" because I cannot turn off the toggle without selecting one of those two options...

Ive just lost all

my important Calendar events on my iPhone 11. Went into Princes St, Edinburgh but the guy told me to reboot/etc, and couldn’t make a technical appointment to assist me.

Definitely.

Im an OAP and wanted help with what the guy in the Apple Store, Princes Street, Edinburgh was telling me. At the end he merely said: Phone Apple Support!
