Trying to hook up to my brother printer on my iPhone it tells me I need IP 17.0 download I tried it does not work what am I doing wrong please help

Posting an emoji of a crying face will not let you update an iPhone 7 Plus to iOS 16 or later. That phone, which ran iOS 10 when Apple introduced it in September 2016 – ten years ago – can only update as far as iOS 15. iOS 15 is five major versions behind iOS 27, the current version of iOS. If iOS 15 is not good enough to run the apps which you want to run – if app developers have abandoned support for your phone – you need a new phone.
About iOS 15 Updates - Apple Support
Apple did provide an update to your phone so that when a key security certificate expires next January, Messages and FaceTime (and maybe some other stuff) won't break. I believe that update is in iOS 15.8.6 and later. Anybody still using an iPhone 6s, 7, 7 Plus, or SE (1st generation) should be sure to update to the latest version of iOS 15 so their phone will have the patch.

You don’t. You cannot update an iPhone 7 Plus to iOS 16 or higher. If iOS 15 is not good enough, it is time to purchase a new iPhone, preferably one that is compatible with iOS 18 and that will be compatible with iOS 26.

No. If you are talking about the iPhone 7 Plus that is the subject of this thread, you cannot update it past iOS 15.
Even if you are talking about some other iPhone that is iOS 18, iOS 18.5 is no longer available – having long ago been superseded by newer versions of iOS 18 and iOS 26.
