Unable to save Google Photos despite free space
I have 20 gigs of storage free, it should be fine and I am still able to screenshot things.

The reason is that many Khan Academy's images use .svg format which iOS/iPadOS/macOS Photos does not support.
So I see the same thing with:
Google search "mitosis khan academy", click "Images", click that "mitosis" image (in the original post) to open it in larger format (now with transparent .svg background), long-click > Save to Photos. Result: no image is saved to Photos.
A suboptimal workaround:
Google search "mitosis khan academy", click "Images", long-click the (thumbnail) image > Save to Photos. Result: a low-resolution web page thumbnail is saved to Photos.
The best quality but clumsy workaround: Open the actual Khan Academy web page and scroll to that "mitosis" image, then open it and save as .svg and use some image processing app to convert it to a format (.jpg for example) that Photos supports. This is most easily done on the macOS but I could via some clumsy workflows save the .svg to iOS/iPadOS Files.app for further conversions with some 3rd party app.
Or just take a screenshot.

This is a good question to ask google support or look at their help site, since you're using their app.
And I’ve told you three times that I can’t save to my Photos app even I other search engines. Why would i ask google support when clearly it isn’t a google issue. Just to be clear it’s my normal photos app not google photos
This happens in safari, too. No notification like this, but nothing downloads. It not a google issue
It’s a personal device.

is that what google support told you?
No. The issue is occurring across all search engines.

And what did Google support say? I've asked you about that 3 times already.
