Apple Maps Taking up Storage

The Apple Maps was taking up around 10GB of my storage, and deleting and optimising storage did not help, but what did work for me was the following:

1) Settings

2) Privacy and Security

3) Location Services

4) System Services

5) Significant Locations -> Clear data and toggle option off

6) Restart iPhone and check the storage free up space

Why is my Apple Maps taking up 27 GB of storage space? For some reason, my Apple Maps takes up 27 GB of storage space. I have tried to delete the app, restart my phone, and offload the app. I also made sure there was no offline maps or data downloaded. I also turned it off in my Apple ICloud storage settings. Even when the app is uninstalled it continues to take up more space. I need to update my phone which will hopefully fix the issue. However, it’s really hard to do that when every time I make space, apple maps takes that space so quickly. Any solutions please? I don’t want to back up and reset my phone.

apple maps taking up toooo much storage Why does Apple Maps take up storage even after I deleted the app?? I’ve deleted then downloaded again after powering off but it is still doing so. I do not want to have to update my IOS because I also do not have the space to do so 😐
