I have changed name on my Apple account but sending emails still displays the old name

from: old name (email address). Is there a way to change that?

Here's How to Change the Display Name (Mac):

  1. Open Mail
  2. Go to Mail > Settings > Accounts
  3. Select your iCloud account from the sidebar
  4. In the Account Information tab, look for the Email Address / Full Name field
  5. Change the name in the Full Name box to your new name
  6. Close the window — it saves automatically

On iPhone or iPad:

Unfortunately, iOS does not offer a direct way to change the display name through Mail settings. You’ll need to:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > iCloud
  2. Tap your iCloud email
  3. If there's no editable name field, you must remove the iCloud Mail account (this won’t delete your data — just removes the email config), then:
    • Re-add it under Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account > iCloud
    • During re-setup, enter the correct name
If you don’t want to remove and re-add, sending from iPhone may still use the old cached name until Apple updates iOS to allow editing it directly.

Optional: Check on iCloud Web

If you use iCloud.com Mail, your display name can also be set there:

  1. Go to https://www.icloud.com/mail
  2. Click the gear icon > Preferences > Accounts
  3. Select your iCloud address
  4. Update the Full Name field and save
