iPhone 16 Pro with expired warranty date

Hey, i bought an iPhone 16 Pro from a local store (not an authorized Apple store), and when i check the Warranty; it says it’s expired on 1 July 1978.


But my iPhone is looks like a brand-new phone. You guys think is there problem?

This means that if you check the Model Number in Settings > General > About, it will most assuredly start with a number like 3 or 5. And that means you bought a refurbished iPhone, which was not refurbished by Apple, thus it will have no warranty with Apple. If the store told you they were selling you a brand new, never used iPhone, they lied. But you'll have to take that up with the store you purchased the phone from. Apple can't help, nor can we on this use to user only forum.

Even if it was purchased by a gray market seller, the warranty would have started when it was purchased. Since the iPhone 16 came out in September 2024, warranty would be good until the day before the purchase date, since the warranty begins when the device is purchased by this gray market seller, not when the OP purchased it. It should still have a short period of time of warranty. I still believe the information provided is normally what you see from a device that has been refurbished by someone other than Apple.
