Why does my iPhone say my storage is full?

Please can someone tell me why my iPhone keeps saying my storage is full. When I look at the storage I have noticed that out of the 128GB that 53.32GB is taken up by system data and 11.73GB is taken by iOS. That is over 65GB out of the 128GB. How come this keeps happening and should it be that much and if not how can I get rid of some as when I click on it there is nothing to delete. Please can someone help. Thanks

You very likely have some corrupt data in System as that's out of line, but not unusual. The best way to reduce your System Data is to restore your phone from Backup. Preferably using a computer as opposed to over the air.

See how here --> Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

Follow the directions in the link on the right about restoring from a backup on your computer.

It is saying iPhone storage full. I have iCloud which I use for all my photos. But I have looked at my old iPhone with the same stuff on and the system data only says 7GB but this phone iPhone 13 shows 53GB and it keeps growing even when I don’t use my phone and then pops up with iPhone storage full. Tried hard resetting with no joy followed some other steps from online with no joy. I just want to know how to get this down.
