How to determine if you're blocked by a recipient on iPhone?

My messages show delivered. Is this an assurance that the recipient actually got my message? How can i tell if im blocked? Will trying to call confirm this? Can apple please explain this feature because it is an important basic feature on any phone. Let the sender know if their message was received or not

There is no way to tell whether you were blocked on iPhone. Messages can still show as Delivered even if you are blocked. The same goes for calls, they can still ring through on your side. Personally I believe it wouldn’t make sense for it to notify your recipient that they blocked you as that kind of defeats the purpose if you don’t want communication from them. Also there are plenty other circumstances in which calls or messages don’t go through, such as a weak signal, powered off/out of battery iPhone, Focuses, and more.

Hello!

If the message shows as delivered, the recipient has gotten the message on their device. If it shows as sent, it has left your device, but is waiting in the clouds for the recipient to turn on their device or get service (for example) so it can deliver the message. If they have read receipts on, it’ll show “Read” which means just that.

Now determining if you’re blocked is tricky. The best way is to ask that person directly, (if possible.) If not, you can try to call them. If the call goes straight to voicemail there’s a good chance you’re blocked.

However this must be tried more than one time, and at different times of the day for better results. Because the recipient may just have their device on DND, or it may be off, or they may have no service.

You can’t tell if you’re blocked via text messages, I think. But I may be wrong.
