iPhone battery charged to 100% despite set limit of 80%

The battery was charged to 100% despite the set limit of 80%. During charging, it was lying to 83%, after disconnecting the power, 84% appeared, in the settings there was information about the last charge to 94% and after resetting the phone, 100% appeared

Could it be the fault of the 18.5 software?

Not a fault. Even if you have set a Charge Limit on your phone, the battery will still charge to 100% "occasionally" to help with accurate battery calibration.

When I tried Charge Limits, "occasionally" was about 2-3 times a month. Some users report less and some report more, so the real question for you might be how often "occasionally" might be.
