iPhone 13 Pro Max White Screen Issue – Can i ask for discount?
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to see if others have run into the same frustrating problem I’m currently facing with my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I got the device through a carrier plan on June 15, 2022, and just recently, suddenly the phone display is in white screen.
I immediately took it to an Apple Authorized Service Provider (iStore) after trying to restore it on my own (hoping it is just a software glitch) and they issued a formal service report confirming that:
- The unit has no signs of liquid damage
- The unit has never been opened or tampered with
- Unit is eligible for display and battery replacement. (Last time i checked the batt is at 81%. Which is not an issue for me yet)
Despite being well-maintained and just a little over 3 years old, it’s now unusable. What’s odd is that my older iPhones including the iPhone 6 and iPhone XS are still working perfectly. That contrast really makes me suspect this is a hardware defect specific to the 13 Pro Max.
Apple devices are generally known for longevity and reliability, so I’m surprised by this failure. I plan to contact Apple Support and am hoping they’ll consider a goodwill repair or compensation, given the circumstances and the report from iStore. The cost for the repair is good for iphone 12 here in the Philippines.
I’d love to hear:
- Has anyone else experienced this white screen issue with the 13 Pro Max where the problem is the display?
- Were you able to get support from Apple or your carrier, even out of warranty?
- Any suggestions for successfully escalating the issue?
