How to stop getting notifications while in Airplane Mode on iPhone?
I have for the longest time turned on airplane mode throughout the day while working and during sleep at night. This allows me to get stuff done without getting hundreds of notifications which I find distracting during the day (adhd) whilst still being able to check the time and my calendar, and during the night it allows me to get rest while having my alarm set for the morning. This has worked really well for me for the last couple of years or so- maybe even more. However in the last few days, I have noticed that even when I put my phone on airplane mode, I receive all the text messages, phone calls and emails that I never used to get when I switched airplane mode on.
i hate this- It is so distracting. I don’t want to have to switch my phone off as I make use of certain apps. Has anyone else noticed this change recently? And if so is there any way I can switch it back to how it behaved before? I literally have airplane mode on now, and in the past I have not been able to connect to the internet with it on.
On the Apple support site for the latest iOS, Apple states: “By default, Wi-Fi,Bluetooth®, and cellular networks are disabled in Airplane Mode-you can't make or receive FaceTime calls or use features or accessories that require wireless communication, but you can listen to music, play games, watch videos, and use other apps that don't require internet access.”
this tells me what’s happening now should not in fact be happening
thanks in advance!
