Why am I getting error code S7121-1101 on Safari while streaming Netflix?

My MacBook is up to date and running the latest software. However, when I try to stream Netflix in Safari, I get a pop-up message that says: "Pardon the interruption & Error Code: S7121-1101."  I made sure there were no "VPN and Extensions" running in the browser. I cleared cache, cookies, etc. Even though I have a strong internet connection capable streaming in high quality, the error still appears.

That is an error provided by Netflix and they advise you to follow these steps:

  1. Go to netflix.com/clearcookies. This will sign you out of your account.
  2. Select Sign In and enter your Netflix email and password.
  3. Try Netflix again.


You may need to clear Safari Cache/Website Data. You can specifically remove the Netflix data, so it does not affect any data from other websites.
