iPhone 11 restarts in the middle of updating after white 'Swipe up to upgrade screen'

Hello,

I've been trying to update my iPhone 11 with the latest iOS 18+. The software update was downloaded while my phone was plugged into my Mac and verified.

I enter my passcode after the white 'Swipe up to upgrade screen' and the phone seems to be updating.

The problem is, the phone restarts when it is about three quarters of the way done -- and puts me back at the white "swipe up to upgrade screen". I've now tried 5+ times to update but it keeps restarting at the same point and putting me thru the same process.

I'm very grateful if anyone offer a solution.

Hi.

This sounds like the update is stuck in a setup loop.

• Try a force restart (quick Volume Up → Volume Down → hold Side button).

• If that doesn’t help, plug into your Mac, open Finder, and put the phone into Recovery Mode. Choose Update to reinstall iOS without erasing data.

If that fails you may need to Restore and set up from backup.

Hi.

If it’s also failing in Recovery Mode at the same spot, you might want to try a full DFU restore. It goes deeper than normal recovery and can clear out issues during updates. Just make sure to back up first. If it still doesn’t work, then it could be something system level or hardware related but no need to assume the worst just yet.

Thanks for your response. I get the same problem when trying to Update in Recovery Mode. Computer DL's all the update, i get to the white screen, enter my code and it errors out (phone restarts) at the same point of the upgrade on the white screen as before :(

i'm trying a DFU but my phone keeps restarting in the middle of the update / restore, making it impossible to complete :(
