Iphone 12 Pro Max Data Recovery Screen while driving / carplay

This has happened 2 times to me already & was curious if it was something serious. I have an Iphone 12 Pro Max (512gb don’t know if that matters) , on 2 different occasions about 4 months apart my iphone will disconnect from my carplay , upon picking the phone up the screen flashes on before quickly shutting off , upon turning back on the screen gets a “attempting data recovery” , once finished & the iphone powers back up , my data , bluetooth & wifi all seem to be disabled. Upon restarting the phone manually all seem to be fully functioning again. Can’t really think what I do while or when it happens besides driving my vehicle because I am not actively on the phone nor messing with the carplay, the phone is placed down on a built in wireless car charger on the dash/center console area. Maps & spotify were being used in both occasions. Iphone is fully up to date as well as all apps.

roberttjm ~ Spontaneously shutting down & restarting is one of the behaviours of an iPhone with a weak, aging battery. So as your iPhone 12 Pro Max could be nearly 5 years old, it's worth checking the battery...

Does your iPhone 12 Pro Max still have its original battery?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

77% is not healthy and is almost certainly the reason for that problem. Apple recommends having the battery replaced at around 80% – so have the weak, aging battery replaced and all will be well:

We can't diagnose the issue on this user to user only forum. But I'd hazard a guess you have an emerging hardware issue looming and it would be a good idea to schedule an Appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and Apple can run diagnostics on your phone --> Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

You should be backing up your iPhone daily to avoid any data loss should the phone fail.
