Your screen shot shows only the top half of the menu. The satellite demo is at the very bottom. Have you scrolled to the bottom of this menu. On my iPhone 16 Pro the satellite demo is shown and works even with WiFi and Cellular active. I just now went outside and got a successful connection. The instructions say that you cannot receive or make phone calls while the demo is in progress. That probable means the demo temporarily turns of WiFi and Cellular while connecting.

In short, it just works.

I assume in the last screenshot showing your SOS settings, you did scroll all the way to the bottom, as the scroll bar indicator on the right does not make that clear, and would appear there is more there.

The Author claims to have bought the phone in the US and is in the US. But I also told them they STILL have not gone far enough to the bottom of the page. I'm not sure why it's that difficult to swipe up to get to the very bottom?

Sorry, no one here can help you any further then. You’ll need to take your iPhone 16 Pro to an Apple Store or authorized service provider for examination. If you are no longer in the U.S. you’ll just have to learn to live without satellite connectivity it until you get back. Satellite connectivity is NOT available worldwide, especially in Asia.

Pay attention to the section on availability as it is only available in certain countries, so where you are located determines if you have access to SOS Services via Satellite.

Review the information provided here and also note that since your phone is showing both cellular and Wifi, the Satellite option will not show in Settings:

Try the Satellite Connection Demo

To find out how to connect to a satellite, try the demo. You'll need to be outside on relatively open terrain and with a clear view of the sky. Trees with light foliage may slow down the connection and dense foliage may block it. Hills or mountains, canyons and tall structures can also block the connection.

The problem that was discussed, and fully resolved above?

If you are in an area where satellite coverage is available and permissible and the rest of the discussion, then a discussion either Apple is in your future. Whether that becomes a repair or a swap or a replacement?
