A description like "APPLE.COM/BILL CORK IRELAND" could indicate a legitimate charge from an Apple regional headquarters or processing center. Or it could be a scam charge, placed onto your card by criminals who have mimicked the description format that Apple uses, in hopes of fooling you into believing the charge is legitimate.
Just to be on the safe side, I would not call any phone number you see in the description line. There are ways to contact Apple that don't depend on trusting the phone number for a charge that might itself be suspect.
As for determining if the charges are legitimate, do you
- Have any subscriptions with Apple (e.g., iCloud+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade)?
- Make any "in-app purchases"?
- Buy anything from the App Store?
- Buy anything from the iTunes Store?
- Buy anything from the online Apple Store?
Any of those things could translate into a charge to your payment method. In the case of App Store and iTunes Store purchases, Apple might group together several smaller purchases into a single payment method charge.
I would suggest reviewing your Apple purchase history, contacting Apple if you have any questions – and then contacting your bank if neither you nor Apple can identify the charges as legitimate.
