Issue with iPhone 15 plus and 4g calling VoLTE

In in London UK. I have an iPhone 15 plus. In uk there’s no VoLTE toggle on phone settings (it’s supposed to already been enabled).

my iPhone has bad signal and my carrier says I should be able to do 4g calling with volte but I never get a 4g signal for mobile data.

outside I can sometimes get 5g, but that drops. Indoors 3G. Or no signal.

I’ve spoken to carrier but they say it must be my area but I see people with Samsungs using 4g in my area.

if I never see 4g on my phone does this mean when 3G is switched off in my area soon I will not be able to use it?

it’s worrying because the phone is meant to be capable.

anyone else had a problem with iPhone 15 plus doing this?

Your carrier is the one that provides the settings for you to choose what cellular you use. That is provided as part of their carrier file. Do you have wi-fi at home? If so, does your carrier support wi-fi calling? If they do, then you could use wi-fi calling at home. See this information. Make a call with Wi-Fi Calling - Apple Support

You can also ask if your carrier provides boosters for people that are in fringe areas of their service. That could help improve your signal at home.

VoLTE is enabled by default. There is no way to turn it off. It is required by most carriers around the world now.

Is your cellular carrier on this list?

You may need to consider switching carriers if the coverage is poor where you need it.

What's the model number of the phone in Settings>General>About?

Did you purchase the phone from Apple or an authorized retailer in the UK or did it come from another country?

Got it from authorized carrier in uk. Model no: MU123ZD/A. I’ve spoken to them numerous times and they’ve had me reset network settings and all sorts but I’m not sure what to do because they keep telling me it must just be because I’ve got bad signal in my house.

I can select 4g in settings but I don’t know if it’s using volte because of no toggle and I’m not very technical and customer services at my carrier don’t really know much (it’s an outsourced call centre in India and they seem to read out of manuals I think rather than know what to do.

essentially I could get a new phone but I guess I’m wondering if that would make a difference if it is a problem with my house but again, never had 4g data outside either just 3G or 5g?

and no WiFi calling doesn’t seem to work either.
