How can I fix missing text alerts on my iPhone 16 Plus?

Despite following every recommendation I can find of checking Notifications are enabled, ringtones are set and on, Do Not Disturb is not enabled and on and on - I do not receive text alerts when my phone is locked. I do have an Apple watch and have read it might be a factor, but I've followed every step I can find to ensure the settings are set up correctly. Sometimes after doing these things I will receive the alerts for maybe 30 minutes, but then it goes away again. It does not vibrate either, despite that being enabled.

Owning Apple Watch is not a maybe factor. It IS the reason you're not getting text alerts on your iPhone, when you're wearing your watch and your iPhone screen is locked. This is by design and absolutely how Apple designed things to work. You can get notifications on your iPhone or your Apple Watch, but NOT both at the same time. There is nothing wrong with your phone. It is doing what it was designed to do.

Turn them off and after a while back on again to see if the issues persist
