So I take good care of my AirPods and I’ve never lost one before. But I recently lost the right bud of my AirPods Pro second generation. I cannot track or look in Find My because it thinks that I have somebody else’s AirPods, so it says I am not the original owner. Is there anything I can do to find them? I also have AppleCare plus, so if I wanted to completely replace my AirPods, could I do that? Thank you.

You might want to check you are using your correct Apple (ID) Account that you use with all devices.
Eg: on iPhone or iPad: Try checking your Apple Account details are correct in Settings [your name]

Else if airpods were previously owned by another, and still linked to the previous owner, that person is the only one who can change that, and prepare them for the new owner ... you.

Eg: Article above says: AirPods can be paired with only one Apple Account at a time. You need to remove AirPods from your Apple Account before giving away or selling them. That way, the new owner can pair them to their Apple Account and take advantage of all the features — including Find My.

Find My is the only Apple method.
If you haven't already:
Try to remember where you last had them for sure ... if not too long ago try retracing your steps or route.
Check with owners of places you visit eg: friends and family.
Check in the bottom / in pockets / of any bags or jackets you carry them in, under your bed, sofa, etc.
Check the lost and found at any place you may have been, or frequently visit with the AirPods with you.
See if the AirPod was handed in at the local police station, your cafe or coffee shop etc.

Enter serial number on Apple's website (link below) to check Your Service and Support Coverage:
View Coverage - AppleCare & Warranty You can then follow the onscreen instructions.
Else: You could check if the AirPods appear on your list of your devices with Apple:
( If not shown, and they truly belong on your own Apple Account, try entering their serial number:)
