is there really no way you can help reconnect owner to found airpods?

I've read apple can't tell you who owned a set of pretty new-appearing airpods we just found in an airport. I don't need to know who owned them, but as a fellow human being, I would hope apple would connect them to me. I'd be happy to have you give them my contact information so they can contact me to arrange the return.

This is a user-to-user forum. You are not speaking to Apple here.

I would suggest that you turn the AirPods in to the airport's lost & found department, and tell them where, in the airport, you found them. If the owner of the AirPods lives near that airport, they might contact the airport to see whether someone had done that.

Apple might not even have that information. You could go into a store and pay cash for the Airpods and Apple would have no record of who actually bought them.

Apple is also big on privacy and wouldn't tell you the name even if they knew it, nor is Apple involved in assisting with lost devices except to the extent of providing the Find My service. However, if the owner set this up on their devices and the network is working, they may find them at your house. Find your lost AirPods with Find My - Apple Support

certainly, but for some reason my daughter brought them home. Not sure why she didn't turn them in (hoping not b/c she thought "finders keepers"), but until we have a chance to go back to the airport, it sure seems simple for apple to connect us--right? If they were mine, I'd hope apple would give me the opportunity.

And I feel pretty sure apple knows who registered these airpods...

thanks,

michael
