I found a pair of misplaced AirPods

I found a pair of misplaced AirPods. In linking them to my iPhone I can see their registration numbers and an email address of the owner with part of the address obscured. Can apple assist in getting in contact with the owner so the can be reunited?

Hello~ No…Apple doesn’t get involved. You need to turn them in to local law enforcement. There is an excellent chance the owner can see the AirPods location…

No, Apple can't help you. Turn them in to the lost and found where you found them or to the police.
